This is education, not advice

The information here is written for the general reader and does not replace a personal medical consultation. It cannot tell you whether your own openings are wide or filled, whether treatment is appropriate for your skin, your health or your circumstances, or whether a treatment is suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Pores cannot be shrunk permanently

A pore is the opening of a hair follicle, its size is largely set by the oil gland beneath it, and no available treatment changes that gland or permanently restores the support around the opening. Pores do not open and close. What treatment changes is how large they look, and that change is held by maintenance rather than fixed in place.

Some skin changes are not a pore problem

Sudden and persistent oiliness with other symptoms, flushing with redness and bumps, painful recurring cysts, and any lesion that is changing in size, shape or colour is a medical finding. It is assessed by a doctor before anything cosmetic is considered, and treating it as a pore problem delays a diagnosis that matters.

Individual results differ

Pore appearance has several contributors and their proportions differ between people, so the same routine or course of sessions produces different amounts of change in different faces. No number of sessions and no degree of reduction can be guaranteed, and no plan can be made properly without an examination.
